A lovely summer afternoon with JUNCTIØN18

Part of the joy of JUNCTIØN18 is not only the joy of music and singing together but the idea was originally conceived as a way of bringing people together in new friendships with a common cause of making music. Well the first Saturday in August brought us all together (with partners and family) to enjoy a fabulous barbeque at the home of one of our singers, Anna. The weather was gorgeous, the food incredible and the odd 'tipple' was also enjoyed! We are usually fairly busy on our practice nights and so it was absolutely delightful to have time to chat in a very relaxed atmosphere and to get to know everyone that bit better. The children also enjoyed horses, chickens, bouncy castles and all in all, it was a fabulous afternoon ............ and no, we did not sing anything at all !!!!! Kim was banned from showing us her party trick (thank goodness!) and our very own 'smiling assassin' ordered Derek to ensure that we sing 'Africa' by Toto next term .... and Derek wasn't going to argue !!!! lolololol. Many, many thanks to Anna and Will for hosting and to Alastair, Paula and all who helped with the food on the day.
So we are back to practice on Monday 8th September at the Crick Community Sports Centre 8-10pm. If you saw us at the Scarecrow Festival and fancy a sing, come along on the 8th. Don't forget, there is no formal audition ..... we just want people to enjoy the sing ....
Our next performance is as Special Guests of Ocho at their Christmas Concert at St Margaret's Church in December and some of the choir may also be involved in the Community sing around the Christmas Tree at the Wheatsheaf. A special challenge for next March is entry into Oundle Festivals 'Community Choir' Competition where we would hope to do Crick proud !!! So its all going on with JUNCTIØN18 ....... new singers and returning singers will always be made welcome.
